Well going by the interest shown in this consumer version of EvDiag.
#EVINRUDE ETEC SOFTWARE UPDATE PLUS#
It is not a full-blown version like the factory's but it gives all the engine information and history, has a "dashboard" feature for when running the motor, plus it has some diagnostic capabilities. I understand that there will be a 3rd party independent FICHT/E-TEC software program due out in a few months. Your best bet is to find a friendly dealer.

Because of that, only dealers have access to update and other data. Ok I just found the original post by seahorse.Įvinrude does not make the software for the consumer, it is for their factory trained techs at an authorized dealership. I've searched for that thread but have been unable to find it.Įdit. I recall reading, within the past 6 months, on etecownersgroup that a " stripped down " version for Consumer Use was soon going to become available. This test is used to check operation of the tachometer circuit.View Member Profile Find Member's Topics Find Member's Posts GEB
This test is used to check the “CHECK ENGINE” circuit of the System Check gauge. This test is used to simulate an overheat situation and is used to check the “ENG TEMP” or “HOT” circuit of the System Check gauge. This test is used to simulate an oil pressure switch circuit malfunction and is used to check the “NO OIL” circuit of the System Check gauge. This test activates the exhaust water valve solenoid. Fuel pump resistance is approximately 2 to 3 Ω. Refer to Circulation Pump Resistance Test on p. If the pump does not run during the static test, check voltage and continuity of pump circuit.
If the pump activates, the EMM and fuel pump circuit are not at fault. Use the diagnostic software to test the fuel pump. IMPORTANT: Oil injection pump will not activate on 12 V. Voltage should drop while the static test is active. Monitor the voltage at pin 2 (blue wire) of oil tank connector. Use the diagnostic software to test the oil injection pump electrical circuit. Refer to Fuel Injector Resistance Test on p. If the fuel injector(s) will not fire during the diagnostic tests, check the continuity of the injector circuit. Make sure the injector being monitored is wired correctly. The injector should make an audible click. Use the diagnostic software to test each fuel injector. Check the resistance of the ignition coil windings. 116.Ĭheck each circuit for continuity between the EMM and individual coil. Use the diagnostic software to test each ignition circuit. Static Tests perform diagnostic testing of specified components.
